Accessing the Inuvo Platform & Tools

Complete the onboarding process by securing access to Inuvo’s RSOC infrastructure, configuring essential accounts, and familiarizing yourself with the tools you’ll use to manage content and campaigns.

🧩 1. Overview of Inuvo’s Core Platforms

Before you begin building RSOC campaigns, you must register and log into two primary Inuvo systems:

  1. Inuvo Partner Portal

    • Centralized interface for user authentication, campaign configuration, and analytics.

    • Houses Microscribe (content management), reporting dashboards, and account settings.

  2. MicroScribe

    • Inuvo’s proprietary Content Management System (CMS).

    • Enables you to search, clone, and create RSOC‐compatible articles and assign keywords.

    • Provides article IDs/“slugs” required for constructing RSOC URLs.

Additionally, you’ll interact with:

  • Analytics API (covered in Part 7)

  • Pixel & Tracking Setup (covered in Part 6)

🔑 2. Requesting & Receiving Platform Access

2.1 Submit Your Access Request

  • Identify your Inuvo account manager or Inuvo technical contact.

  • Provide one or more business‐domain email addresses to grant access to:

    • Inuvo Partner Portal

    • MicroScribe CMS

Tip: Using a corporate email (e.g., [email protected]) speeds up verification.

2.2 Approval & Notification

  • Within 24 hours (or as instructed by your account manager), you will receive an email invitation from Inuvo.

  • This email contains a “Register Now” link (or a temporary access code) for the Inuvo Partner Portal and MicroScribe.

📝 3. Registering in the Inuvo Partner Portal

3.1 Access the Registration Link

  1. Open the invitation email.

  2. Click the “Register” or “Set Up Your Account” link.

  3. You will be routed to the Inuvo Partner Portal registration page: https://partners.inuvo.com

3.2 Create a New Account

  1. Enter the email address your account manager authorized.

  2. Choose a strong password (minimum 8 characters, combination of letters, numbers, symbols).

  3. Click “Register” or “Sign Up”.

3.3 Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. After submitting your password, you will be prompted to enable 2FA.

  2. Install an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator or Authy) on your smartphone.

  3. Scan the QR code displayed on the Inuvo portal.

  4. Save the backup recovery codes in a secure location (e.g., password manager).

  5. Enter the one-time code from the authenticator app to complete setup.

Reminder: 2FA is mandatory for all Inuvo Partner Portal users. It secures your account and prevents unauthorized access.

3.4 Link External Logins (Optional)

  • After logging in for the first time, navigate to Account Settings.

  • Under “Linked Accounts”, you can optionally connect:

    • Google Workspace

    • Microsoft Office 365

  • This lets you log in with single sign-on (SSO) in the future.

🖥️ 4. Navigating the Inuvo Partner Portal

4.1 Dashboard Overview

  • Top Navigation Bar

    • Home: Overview of your account, notifications, and quick links.

    • Microscribe: Link to open the MicroScribe interface.

    • Analytics: Access reporting APIs, performance dashboards.

    • Account: Manage profile, password, and API tokens.

  • Sidebar Menu

    • Microscribe

    • Campaign Settings (future feature via CampSight)

    • Help & Documentation (links to RSOC guides, developer docs)

Note: You may not see every menu item immediately—some features (like CampSight compliance setup) roll out gradually.

📚 5. Setting Up MicroScribe (Content Management)

The MicroScribe tool lives inside the Partner Portal. It’s the hub where you will create or clone articles, attach keywords, and generate article IDs/slugs.

5.1 Access MicroScribe

  1. From the Partner Portal dashboard, click “MicroScribe” in the top navigation or sidebar.

  2. Wait for the MicroScribe interface to load (it uses a separate environment).

5.2 First-Time MicroScribe Registration

  • If this is your first time in MicroScribe, you may be prompted to agree to terms or verify additional profile information.

  • Confirm your email (the same one you used to register) is displayed on the top right.

5.3 Navigating MicroScribe Interface

  • Owned Tab

    • Displays all articles that your account currently “owns.”

    • Columns include:

      • Article Title

      • Slug (text used in the URL)

      • Word Count

      • Author/Owner Email

  • Discover Tab

    • Search Inuvo’s entire content library.

    • You can filter by keyword, category, or existing “IDs.”

    • Allows you to clone high-quality articles to your Owned library.

✍️ 6. Creating & Cloning Articles in MicroScribe

6.1 Cloning an Existing Article

  1. In the Discover tab, enter a relevant search term (e.g., “auto insurance,” “diabetes symptoms”).

  2. Browse results; each row shows:

    • An ID number

    • Title (e.g., “Diabetes Symptoms Explained”)

    • Word Count

  3. Click “Clone” next to an article you want to adapt.

    • Cloning duplicates the article content into your Owned library.

    • The cloned article will display on the Owned tab with a new owner slug (e.g., yourcompany-diabetes-symptoms).

  4. Click on the cloned article to open the editor/preview.

  5. Update the Slug to reflect your brand or site (e.g., yourbrand-diabetes-info).

  6. Edit the title or content as needed, ensuring at least 3 sentences of unique, relevant text appear before your RSOC keyword block.

Best Practice: Add 2–3 sentences that summarize or introduce the topic—this helps users and complies with ad policies.

6.2 Creating a Brand-New Article

  1. In the Owned tab, click “Create New Article.”

  2. Fill out required fields:

    • Title (e.g., “Top 5 Home Remedies for Back Pain”)

    • Slug (e.g., yourbrand-back-pain-remedies)

    • Category/Tags (optional, but recommended for search filtering)

  3. Add a minimum of 3 sentences of contextual text describing the topic.

  4. Scroll down to the Keyword Block Section (this will remain empty until you attach keywords in RSOC URL).

  5. Click “Save” or “Publish” (the status will show “Draft” until published).

Tip: Use natural, authoritative language. RSOC performs best when the article content genuinely matches keyword intent.

🔑 7. Extracting Article IDs & Slugs

Every RSOC landing page URL requires either an Article ID or Slug. Here’s how to find them:

7.1 Locate the Article ID

  • In MicroScribe’s Discover or Owned tab, look at the ID column (leftmost, numeric).

  • Example: ID = 130 corresponds with “Diabetes Symptoms.”

  • When you click “Clone,” the cloned ID remains the same; only the slug changes.

7.2 Locate the Article Slug

  • On the Owned tab, check the Slug column.

  • You can also click the article’s title to open its preview page; the URL at the top will include the slug (e.g., /article/diabetes-symptoms).

Note: Use the slug if you prefer a human-readable URL. Otherwise, you can use the numeric ID directly in RSOC URLs.

🔧 8. Configuring Campaign Settings (Basic)

While full “Campaign Settings” functionality (via CampSight) is coming soon, you can prepare basic parameters now:

  1. Gather Your Tracking Details

    • camp_id: Provided by your Inuvo account manager.

    • utm_content: Decide on a consistent naming convention (e.g., “back-pain-remedies-campaign”).

  2. Define Your Placement Tags

    • If you’ll run traffic from:

      • Facebook Ads → placement={{placement}}

      • Google Display Network → placement={placement}

      • Taboola → placement={site_id}

  3. Collect Ad Creative IDs

    • For Paid Platforms, note:

      • Facebook: cad_id={{ad.id}}

      • GDN: cad_id={{creative}}

    • This ensures you can pass the correct cad_id parameter in each RSOC URL.

Pro Tip: Store your camp_id, placement, and cad_id mapping in a simple spreadsheet for quick reference when building URLs.

🔒 9. Verifying Permissions & Security

  1. Confirm 2FA is Enabled

    • Attempt to log out, then log back in with your new credentials and 2FA code.

    • If you lose access to your authenticator app, use your backup codes to regain control.

  2. Validate Portal Roles

    • In Account Settings, ensure your user role is set to “Buyer” (or “Publisher”)—whichever applies.

    • Check with your Inuvo account manager if you need elevated permissions for bulk cloning or API access.

  3. Request API Token (Optional)

    • If you plan to use Inuvo’s Analytics API (Part 7), request a read-only API token from your account manager.

    • When the token arrives, store it securely; you’ll use it to authenticate API calls.

📈 10. Quick Troubleshooting & Tips

  • Problem: MicroScribe page does not load.

    • Solution: Clear browser cache or try an incognito/private window. Ensure your network firewall isn’t blocking partners.inuvo.com.

  • Problem: Cannot find a cloned article in the Owned tab.

    • Solution: Refresh the MicroScribe interface. Check filters—if you have a search filter active, clear it to reveal all owned articles.

  • Problem: RSOC parameters seem incorrect when building a test URL.

    • Solution: Cross-check your camp_id and cad_id values in your spreadsheet. Make sure the slug or ID matches exactly what you see in MicroScribe.
